Plain water is one of the best beverages to drink in order to get and stay hydrated, but plain water can get boring after a while. Try some of the recipes below to give your taste buds a change of pace and make getting hydrated a treat!
For each of the recipes below, use the following directions:
Note: Each of these recipes makes 2 quarts.
- Add the ingredients to a jar or pitcher.
- Top with 6 cups of ice.
- Fill with water to equal 2 quarts.
- Stir.
- Cover.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors infuse.
Orangeberry
Before proceeding to step two, add five thinly sliced oranges and two cups of raspberries to the pitcher and gently muddle with a wooden spoon or spatula.
Citrus Sensation
Before proceeding to step two, combine two thinly sliced lemons, two thinly sliced limes, two thinly sliced grapefruits, and two thinly sliced oranges. Gently muddle with a wooden spoon or spatula.

Apples and Cinnamon
Before proceeding to step two, combine five cored and thinly sliced apples of any variety and five whole cinnamon sticks.
Since it is cold outside, we thought we would give this one a try with its warm flavors like apples and cinnamon. Because we only had enough apples and cinnamon to make half of the recipe, we made one quart instead of two. First, we added 3 cinnamon sticks and 2 small honeycrisp apples (thinly sliced) to a water pitcher.

Then, we added three cups of ice.
We topped this all off with water to equal 1 quart and stirred.
After covering and letting our masterpiece sit in the refrigerator overnight (although two hours would have been just as effective), we enjoyed a festive, delicious beverage to get hydrated!
